One-on-One Coaching
For National Certification in Professional Customer Service
 
 

One on one coaching for certification preparation begins with an assessment of a person’s attitude and aptitude to work in a customer service setting.  This assessment, called the RRA, is given at the beginning and end of the coaching sessions to establish pre- and post-RRA scores.  On the first day we also determine the right personal course of action to prepare the individual for certification.  Day one is a 2-hour session. 

 

Coaching for certification preparation includes review of key vocabulary words and phrases, customer service and sales skill standards, defining duties and responsibilities of sales associates and customer service representatives, and tips on multiple choice test taking techniques as needed.  Coaching sessions are scheduled at mutually convenient times and are billed hourly.  It is our goal to prepare the individual for certification in the shortest possible time. 

 

The final day is a 2-hour session and includes the Certification exam (90 minutes), and review of the individual’s score which is generated immediately upon completion of the exam.

Learners must be at a 6th grade reading level.  Most learners will not require more than 8-10 hours of coaching.  Coaching will prepare the learner for the Certification exam to the best of our ability, passing the assessment is not guaranteed.

10-hour Customer Service Certification Preparation                                                                                       
 
Employers expect that their sales and customer service associates demonstrate a professionalism and competence that drives sales and rewards both the employer and sales associate.  Earning the National Professional Certification in Customer Service distinguishes the associate or job seeker as a trained professional who is ready to succeed and advance.   This 10 hour program teaches customer service basics so that the learner is prepared to sit for the National Certification in Professional Customer Service exam. 
 
Equipped For the Future (EFF)                                                                                                                              
  
EFF includes development of essential skills such as decision-making, communication, life-long learning and interpersonal skills which are critical for success at school, at work, at home and in the community.  Upon completion of the program participants are prepared to take the National Professional Certification exams in Customer Service.  Earning the certificate is a testament to an individuals drive to succeed and advance in a related field. 
 
This program is 80 hours in length, and scheduled at a mutually agreed upon dates and times.  It can be conducted at the SSLC offices in Milford or off-site. 
  
School-to-Work Program                                                                                                                                        
 
This Free service to high schools introduces students to the many job opportunities open to them in retailing, one of the fastest growing and expanding career segments in the United States. The program will present a short history of retail, then immediately go into how this career path offers more opportunities for advancement, higher earnings, and greater job satisfaction than most other careers. The three 45-minute sessions can be scheduled over the course of three days, or the entire program can be presented on the same day, taking less than two hours. This program is ideal for juniors and seniors who are ready to enter the retail workplace or are interested in career exploration.

Our affordable professional development workshops are designed for the small to mid-sized business that wants their sales associates and/or managers to excel on the sales’ floor. We offer customized workshops that can concentrate on those topics you feel would most benefit you sales associates. With your input we’ll assemble the perfect workshop or series of workshops for your business. Recognizing the need to be flexible, we can schedule workshops any time of the day or evening. Each workshop session can be designed to run from 45-minutes to 3-hours, based on your needs, goals and objectives.

Retail Readiness Assessment                                                                                                              $19 each

This assessment evaluates an individual’s aptitude and attitude for providing effective customer service. With the results, an employer can effectively tailor the training of a newly hired associate, concentrating more training on the weakest areas. These can be purchased and scored at the SSLC. 

National Certification in Professional Customer Service exam                                                             $70

This is a 90-minute proctored, computerized assessment consisting of 75 questions that incorporate work functions such as learning about products and services, educating the customer, etc.

National Certification in Professional Sales exam                                                                                     $70

Prerequisite: Customer Service Certification
This is a 90-minute proctored, computerized assessment consisting of 75 questions that incorporate work functions such as building and closing sales, explaining benefits, and completing the transaction. Taking the Sales exam is a logical next step for the dynamic associate who continues to demonstrate excellence in building sales and providing the best customer service to customers.

National Certification in Professional Retail Management                                                                      $80

We strongly suggest preparing for this Certification exam by using the online course suite offered at the National Retail Federation Foundation’s online university, NRF University Wired at www.nrfuniversitywired.com. Click on course catalog, then Retail Management Training Suite. The Retail Management Training Suite costs $300, paid directly to the NRF.  The Certification exam is taken at the SSLC.
